The market at Meaklong Thailand

While in Bangkok we took one day to go to the floating market about an hour from the city. On the way there we passed through a small village, Meaklong. It was market day which you can see here.

Meaklong Market

Because this was a small village and they had little open space they had to use what they had. Here is a video showing how they did that.

You don’t see that at the big Walmart supercenter.

From Wuhu (PARTEE) to Nanjing to Shanghai and home

We took a car from Wuhu to Nanjing to catch the high speed train to Shanghai. The train traveled most of the way at about 300k/hr (for the metrically challenged that’s about 136 mph) Here is the train coming into the Nanjing station.

Here come da train

The message board in the train keeps you updated on stuff like speed. Here showing 287 k/hr

Here is what that looks like out the window.

We arrived in Shanhai and taxied to our 150 year old hotel on the Bund…

Astor House Hotel

Just around the corner from this late afternoon view of Shanghai.

A few blocks away is Nanjing road, the Times Square of this part of Shanghai, here with the moon rising.

At the end of Nanjing road next to the river is the Peace Hotel that on the 9th floor is an expensive restaurant that we have eaten in about every time we are in Shanghai. A dinner there finished the night.

So it was back to the hotel for the night with another stop on the bridge for another picture of Shanghai at night.

This then lead to the camera generated panorama photo.

Next day on the big silver bird for the flight home. 36 hours after this picture I walked into the house.

Wuhu Partee

Wuhu China, Partee the last stop on the funny name tour. This is the city of 4 million (just a small town) where the second plant is being developed. Here are the latest plant pictures.

View of a lake area in central Wuhu about 20 minutes from the plant and apartment.

Central Wuhu

It seems that the apartment is more or less in line with the runway at the local Chinese Air Force Base where the Chinese spend all day flying their big jet fighters.

If Zhuhai is like a Florida city in China Wuhu would be like Cleveland.

Monday : back to the big factory to reopen after the new year

Most of the factory production area

A couple parts being made.  A refrigerator handle opening device sub assembly,  an ice maker bin,  and some other refrigerator parts.

After all that hard work time for lunch.

Food delivered to table 12 and a selection of fish stuff, meat stuff, vegetable stuff,  and rice stuff.

The afternoon was more the same.

Back to Zhuhai

Back to Zhuhai after completing 2/3 of the funny named places tour. Here is a shot of our last view of the Phuket (that is pronounced poo ket you stupid English speaker) beach

Now Sunday morning and off to the local village for some breakfast and market shopping.

Will return to the silly name tour Wednesday. Until then contemplate what they do to Ronald McDonald in Thailand.
